The quiet of the library calms the nerves.

The university library where I teach a music class is right next to the music building.

It is basically two buildings with one of the being where the former basketball gymnasium was and the new building is a 9 stories high and rest right on the spot where the swimming pool used to be. If you go to the top floors you can look out over the city and it is quite a view. Sunsets are especially nice…too bad there isn’t a rooftop deck to relax on. But, the rumble of the ventilation system dampens all noise with it’s white noise audio filter. so you have this very calming environment.

Since it is a library, you can find all kinds of books with all kinds of subjects but I particularly like the media library where music, film, videos and books about fashion, architecture and art are found. Large books with huge pictures of everything imaginable. It is easy to spend a lot of time here. But really the best part is that you can use the computers and the internet is really fast.

So, I come in here to blog because I don’t get any circles or disruptions. It just flies.

Libraries are a  great thing and whether they be public or private, like this university library, anyone can use them for free. I have a library card of course and a membership, but also work on campus which is really a refuge from the world. It is such a relaxing and positive atmosphere. The chairs are comfortable and you have large desks to work at if you want. The keyboard is a bit noisy though.

I highly recommend libraries.
