Absolutism In Any Form Can't Work

Absolutism can’t solve all problems

If you visit the archives of time there is one common lesson to be learned.  Absolutism is not the answer for anything.  It would be nice if it was possible to say that a certain way is the only and right way but the fact is, nothing is always absolute and rigidity to believe such leads to a lot of strife.

There are many belief systems in the world but absolutism will ruin even the greatest of them.

Flexible thinking endures the test of time. Thinking that is able to consider new angles and new philosophies will grow over time.  Absolutism that leads to shutting doors on new inspiration because it doesn’t coincide with held concepts can’t serve any purpose but to narrow the view of the world and of one’s own life.  It simply will not solve complex problems.

In the present political climate there is a lot of flaming discourse with name calling such as ”liberals”, ”right-wingers”, ”socialists”, ”greedy rich”, ”entitlement hoarding poor” ”fundamentalists.  Each name represents a narrow view of itself and of others.  All men may be created equal, but they are not given the same where-with-all to do certain things, either due to their own inabilities or the happenstance of their environment.

The End Of Freedom Is Absolutism

There are more possibilities than that of simple logic and reason.  They cannot tell the whole story.  In an atheist’s world there is no proof of a God, so there can’t exist a God.  So, going by that definition they would be right.  But, are they in fact correct?  Are they not asking for proof in a realm where proof will not be found, because it can’t live there?  Just like a fish can’t live out of water, neither can God be reasoned or explained into existence, because the very nature of it is not in reality, there can only be God where reality is not. Absolute statements erase the ability to accept concepts which would otherwise enhance life in great ways. It is almost as if you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.  Since you have gone down on record as believing this way or that way, then you had better not flip flop on an issue, because that shows weakness of character. Absolutism leads to stubbornness which leads down the same old road time and again.

The best intentions often drive people into a corner because they feel they cannot change their opinions.  Don’t get caught holding on to something that will leave you high and dry.  Let go of strictness and embrace ambiguity.

Give something new a try and do it for a long time until you get good at it!  Try this for starters.  It is for real! Open your mind, your heart and come in to a life of openness!
