Selfish People Won't Succeed

Selfish people will not succeed in network marketing and in life.

What makes a selfish person?  It is someone who is more worried about themselves than about others. This includes characteristics in every part of living. If you are more concerned with yourself than you are others, you will lead a life of want and lonliness.

This of course is a selfish post, because I am worried about myself when writing it. I am not here to point fingers at others but rather to point the finger at myself, because I realize that my selfishness has cost me a lot in my life.

The number one area of selfishness is to worry about what anyone else thinks of ME. The core of that thoughtful and wasteful occupation is ME, ME and ME.

We are worried about our reputation and about what people will think of us. We have been so conditioned in what is accepted and not accepted that we have lost all of our individual capability to discern between what is actually right and wrong thinking.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in the field of network marketing. I would say that the number one reason people don’t get involved in it, or succeed in it, is out of a fear of loss of reputation and the fact is there is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of it.

It is THE most ethical business there is. But, for some reason, people have it associated with pyramid schemes and chain letters and this is the main problem with it. The fact is, network marketing has nothing to do with either illegal scam.

But, due to the narrow minded thinking of good people who dutifully follow what is acceptable and what isn’t, network marketing has a tough road to hoe. This is where selfishness comes in.

There is no way a selfish person is going to do network marketing, or do it well, because they will be more concerned about their perceived acceptance in society than they are about helping people who deserve it and work for it. This not only limits the good network marketing can do in the world, but it also limits the person rejecting it, because they will never get over their selfishness out of a false sense of self preservation.

I suffer under all of this greatly. I hope to break through this barrier of selfishness. I must if I am to succeed.
