”What Are You Doing?”

”What are you doing?” This is a question I get a lot these days and to be honest I haven’t really known how to answer that question when people ask me. The reason is that I haven’t really been able to focus on anything. I have been very busy but have not been getting very far because of the variety of things that I am working on. Not that anyone is intersted, but if you have been wondering what I am doing, I thought I would explain it here!
I. Voice and Music
The continuous search for my singing voice has led me through teachers, coaches and doctors, hours upon hours of practicing realizing that my voice in essence is there and it is healthy and what is more important the voice is young, vibrant, lyric, powerful and to be honest I’m not sure there are better high notes to be found anywhere. Actually, I’m beginning to think that my voice IS a high voice, like Puritani, William Tell or Daughter of the Regiment. Something doesn’t work quite right and so I have been going through a process of trial and error, looking at different concepts and filing through the vast library of vocal techiniques to see which one or combination thereof is going to be the way. I am so grateful to the wise advice of my teachers and friends about it and I believe that I am finding the way. One aspect of my issue has simply been Reflux, and the effects that has had on my voice in terms of my lungs and sinuses. So, I have decided on a way to sing and now am training that. So, that is part of what I am doing.
II Author
As most of you know I published a book ”Boredom to Brilliance” and it has been a huge learning experience. Clearly I love to write, something I hadn’t realized before. I realize now that writing a book is not a novel thing. A visit to the Frankfurt Book Fair will teach you that. Today and in the future the market for writing is going to be in virtual books while some types of books will still require the printed kind. But, printing a book is a big deal and not a good way to start anymore unless a large publisher prints it for you, the result being that they keep most of the profit and you get pennies in return. Publishing is one of the biggest rip-offs in history. Just look at the music industry. Today, you don’t really need a publisher, but you MUST BE ABLE TO MARKET!
So, the project with doing workshops and seminars is something I have started and will continue to build on. That is a different business altogether and requires a lot of time. But, I enjoy it a lot, let’s face it I’m addicted to the stage.
III Business
My next project has been business.
What IS business?
A business is an entity which provides goods or services in exchange for profit, making more money than it costs to produce or provide the product or service.
Without profit, business fails.
What is the moral justification for business?
The only way money is created in the world is through sales.
Without sales nothing is possible. No taxes, no schools, no buildings, no hospitals, no TV, no governments, no nothing… we go back to living in caves.
Maybe someday, there will be another way found, but until that day comes, sales of products and services is the only way society can survive.
So the next time someone tries to sell you something, thank them for crying out loud, they are doing what needs to get done to keep the world turning for the human race. Stop trying to see every salesman as a scammer or con artist. Be grateful for the advertising you see, for it is that which makes what you are looking at possible!
Now, as with being an author, I am also new to this. What I have found is that there is more opportunity today in the world than ever before, especially for the common man. But there is something else I have found:
Our society, the American Free Enterprise System,
CAPITALISM,
and the land of opportunity and ability to be the king/queen of your own castle,
has been subverted by teaching dependency on jobs instead of
teaching independence of creating your own income.
I have wanted for many years to be my own businessman and make my own money without having to depend on a job for my livelihood. But, it seems to me that the idea of making your own money these days is shady business. There is some misguided thinking going on in society today, and I’ll tell you where it comes from. It comes from an inaccurate concept of what capitalism is all about.
Capitalism is NOT about big corporations eating up the world and taking advantage of it’s employees. Now, do corporations try to eat up the world and take advantage of employees, of course!
But that isn’t what capitalism is about. Capitalism is about the economy being based on the individual’s right to have money and wealth. So, actually, when people say get a job with some organization like a corporation, the government, the military or any other organized group what they are actually telling you is that capitalism isn’t for you. Jobs are really socialism when you get right down to it. Because what do you hear from jobs? Everyone wants benefits provided by the employer, income equality among workers, minimum wages, fair wages, please boss give me a raise and strikes against the company. Folks, if you have a job, you are not a capitalist but a socialist, pure and simple. Socialism is not limited to government entitlements to people, no, it is entitlements to anyone, be it from government or corporate.
Don’t get me wrong, socialism is not necessarily a bad thing, because it secures certain basic needs that people have. But, what it does is weaken your ability to make your own money and be independent.
So, when you go and start a business today you get a lot of resistance. All of the sudden it seems that all you care about is money. You are greedy, you are scamming people and the only legitimate business are those where you have to invest a lot of money, I’m talking tens of thousands of dollars, have employees, have a brick and mortar storefront and all of the costs of running a business. Most of all, you work 24/7 and your life is determined by that business, you are a slave to your own business, and people are ok with that. Now, the worst thing that can happen to you is if you make a lot of money by working hard, then you get labeled ”Rich” and are looked at with skepticism, jealousy and worst of all mistrust.
This is the way I was raised. I was raised totally outside the world of business. I was raised a socialist and it is in my blood, not only that, but I am surrounded by it to this day. Today people do a lot of investing of their money, which is a good thing, but, what is that really? You give your money in hopes of getting money in return without having to work for it. Other people work for you. Ok, that is a step in a good direction, but, while your money is invested you don’t have your money. Not until your dividends can be the money used to invest and not your capitol, can you say that you are now a capitalist. But, here is my problem with the investment strategy… what is that really? You are investing in corporations that hire people and pay them benefits and wages. I’m not saying that is a bad thing, I am just saying that they are the propagators of this socialist mindset. You are now a part of the corporate machine that is trying to eat the earth. It beats being the worker for it, that much is certain.
But, here is the deal, I believe that one of the most important inventions of the past century has been the idea of affiliate and network marketing. Why? Because it is a business that the common man can get into at a low price and create an income which serves his independence. It is the best opportunity for becoming a true capitalist. It is a capitalist institution at it’s best.
The best place to learn business is in network marketing because not only can you build your own business but you also learn to lead a team of independent business owners, all striving for the same thing, to become the king/queen of their own castle.
But what does that get you? RIDICULE! That is what you get. Here you are on the front lines of the pioneer spirit, trying to build a sovreign business and captiol for yourself, your family and the next generations and what do you get for it, accusations of being involved in a scam, cheating and almost seen as being as bad as a drug pusher. I have learned not to get angry when I hear this because I understand where it comes from, I am one of them.
I admit that I harbor some of these beliefs myself. It is how I was raised. I really don’t like this about myself, because I want so bad to be independent, but I have difficulty with people thinking that I am doing something immoral or unethical. The fact is, what I am doing has the highest ethics, because if you don’t have the highest ethics you will get roasted in this business.

Since May 2013 I have been a part of the relatively young Empower Network. So, if you are still reading, hang on, because this is the business of a lifetime.
I don’t know really where to start with this…. I guess I will start with what is unique about the Empower Network. This may be a bit of a stretch for those of you who don’t understand network marketing… anyway(s)…
What makes the Empower Network different from most home business companies is:

The sales commissions are paid out at 100% of the price of the products.

Obviously with Empower Network as with any network marketing company, you don’t have to be an affiliate to be a customer, in other words, you can just buy the products and use them, and you don’t have to be a customer of the products to be able to earn commissions as an affiliate. There is no guarantee of income, because it is:
NOT a JOB,
you are NOT an EMPLOYEE
it is NOT an INVESTMENT,
you don’t make money just because you put money in.
It is a business! As with any business you have start up costs, accounting costs and money transfer costs. You have infrastructure and you have customers and business rules that must be adhered to. You must pay taxes on the income and you can deduct expenses against that income. There are no benefits guaranteed to you and you don’t have to have employees. Most businesses require that you either buy a product in order to be able to resell it, or you create a product which you can sell or you can simply be the broker of a product you sell and get a commission from the product without having to pay for it yourself.
So, in short, the Empower Network has products that you can sell for a 100% commission and each commission is paid to one affiliate who makes the sale of one product to one end customer. That is it. That is all it is.
But, the Empower Network has done something literally genius on top of this. They use what is called a pass-up commission plan. Simply, here is how it works. An affiliate makes one sale after the other, and they are ranked for each product individually on one line, sales # 1,2,3,4,5,6…and so on.
Now, sales 2, 4, 6 and every fifth after that get passed up to the qualified sponsor on that product.
This means that sales 1,3,5, 7,8,9,10… (excluding 2,4,6, and every fifth), will then pass up their 2,4,6 and every fifth to you. And on it goes into the indefinite infinity, one commission being paid to one affiliate leveraged by the work of others! Folks…. at 100% commissions and this pass up plan, you can make a fortune, it is real and it is awesome.
Now, let us get clear on what the products are?
– A Viral Blogging System and fast start training on how to use it and become an internet marketing entrepreneur.
– Other products which are training for mindset, motivation, inspiration…
further training in internet marketing and network marketing and detailed training etc.
In essence 5 commissionable products starting at a very affordable $25, and then increasing in value and commission to 100, 500, 1000 and 3500 (3000 commission) dollars.
Ok, you understand the online software product, but what about the training products?
There are no real products… well, that is not true. These are information products and information products have value because of their information, not due to the medium that transports them.
People think that the physical book, cd or dvd is what they are buying, they have something in their hands… but really these are all information products, or products that store information, you aren’t really buying cds, dvds and paper and cardboard, you are buying the information within, otherwise you wouldn’t by it.
With online information, like Kindle books for instance, there IS no physical product, but it is still valuable all the same. So, you are paying for information and it is valuable information.
I think that pretty well sums up that topic.
Now, you say that I can get information on Google, Wikipedia and so on, but here is what those are… they are all marketing sites. The information you get on google and wikipedia is there to promote a product for sale, this is why it has grown leaps and bounds. Folks, people are not posting all of this information for the fun of it, it is there to make money. It is time to grow up and see that. And that is GOOD!
Why? Because what this means is that any average Joe has the same chance as any large corportion on the internet! With the Empower Network you can make really good money while learning how to market and you can compete with the big boys, becaue the internet is a level playing field!
Are you beginning to get a picture of the genius of the Empower Network? It is a business that anyone can get into, an education that teaches you the skills of internet marketing so you can forever be able to market anything you want to market for the rest of your life, which makes your ”portfolio” of businesses potentially limitless! Not only that, it teaches you the beauty of the affiliate business, you can be an affiliate of limitless number of businesses, AUTOMATICALLY!
I’m just now scratching the surface here, but this is huge and it will only grow. It can position you with the newest products on the market and enable you to create income totally on your own, promoting other’s businesses and products. Part of that business is blogging and advertising… getting people to your webpage… that is what Internet Marketing is!
Here is the beauty of the Empower Network… why would you market to a small number of people to friends and family when the entire population of the earth is available. Heck, most of your friends and family aren’t going to understand it anyway and besides, it feels yucky to sell friends and family, even when it is something that could change their lives for the better.
Last but not least the greatest thing about the Empower Network is the mentality cultivated here. It has been pointed out that it is not the ”entitled” network or the ”hand out” network, it is the Empower Network, meaning, the training is to teach each individual the mindset and practices of being an independent entrepreneur and to stop looking outside yourself for answers. You are powerful, know that and be it. Stop the excuses, the blaming and the complaining and take charge of your own destiny, be the king/queen of your castle. Such powerful and strong language and leaders I have yet to see anywhere else.
Folks this is truly great. Is it all about making money? Well, yes! And no! It is about Empowering people to do what they love and to be able to do it freely. It is about spending time with the people you love and helping them out. It is about community contribution and creating a world of people who are not dependent on others but are strong within themselves. It is about going to bed knowing your bills are paid, you have income coming in and money in your saving’s account and that you can have what you want and not what you settle for, including all of the justifications why that is a good thing. It is about waking up in the morning and being able to actually drink a cup of coffee and not gulp it. It is about seeing the world and being a positive independent and strong force in the world. It is about paying taxes, doing your duty and above all being a responsible contributor to the world, not a parasite of it.
IV Conclussion
These are the things I am doing. What is the driving force behind my ideas? The highest form of human existence – artistry. I love music, I play the piano, listen to music and love to sing. I love standing on the stage singing an opera and love to go to the theater to see/hear an opera, ballet, drama, symphony or a movie. I love to read books and to discover new worlds. I would love to go to a museum and be able to actually look at works of art and not try to set the guiness book of world records in viewing as many rooms possible in one day. I love to learn and to study. I love being with people and sharing special moments…
…but I can’t do any of these if I don’t make money… some of these things I can do to make money, but the entire idea behind ”Boredom to Brilliance”, my life, my work, may art is to be able to make all of this and more possible for every single person I can.
We were not placed on a cheap dollar store earth or given a second hand body, mind and spirit to live life with, no, we have been given a quality existence, and it is our duty, especially as artists to encourage quality on this earth. Instead of buying a closet full of cheap clothes you hate, buy a couple of hangers of clothes of quality that you love. Our world has become used to the idea that paying less for more is a good thing, when that is the guaranteed path to poverty. Everything costs something, but not everything has value and our society has become hooked on getting stuff for free. Yes, that is a marketing tactic, but I guarantee you it is not a proper transfer of goods and services for money.
Finally, there are practices that I know of that I don’t do which would greatly enhance my life, and the life of others. I haven’t been doing those practices.
We live in a world surrounded by awesome opportunity. Why is everyone so afraid? Because the media makes money telling people the bad news, and they love it. Good news doesn’t make money. Why is today different than at any time in history prior to this? Because we know how things are done and it can always be rebuilt. Mankind finally knows that there is no limit to the achievements and new ideas that will come.
I will keep being a musician, an author and an entrepreneur because all of these are the essence of being a man of enlightened action and may my efforts be of great value to others.
