Winning and becoming a champion: Step 9 – Don't ever quit.

Don’t quit…

Yeah, yeah, yeah… I’ve heard that one a million times. ”Winners never quit and quiters never win.”  It is so trite to hear that phrase isn’t it?

Well, sometimes the simplest and most well known phrases have hidden meaning that at the surface is not apparent.

The truth is, in life the end doesn’t come until you die, at least for the physical body on earth. Hopefully our nature is strong enough and provides us reasonable health towards the end of life. But, really, those people who keep on living do better at the end, than those who patiently sit by and wait for it.

This is the way it is with winning and quiting.

Some people see themselves not winning and throw in the towel and say, well, I gave it my best. Then they let down in every aspect of life, not only the one thing they were trying to win at.

But the truth is, that winners find a way to change themselves so they can win, amid the trials of life’s challenges.

Not will win an Olympic Gold Medal. Not everyone can win the America’s Cup or the NBA Championship. But everyone can play the game to win, and that is the important part.

Play to win and you will be a winner in life.

Quitting is far to accessable in our society. It is accompanied by a litany of justifications, otherwise known as excuses. Sometimes it is hard to just simply not quit on yourself, after all, you are the only one to lose.

But when winners lose, they get themselves ready for the next play, they forget the past, they have no conscience when it comes to trying things, because the result of not trying would be certain failure.

You may have to redirect, remold yourself and adjust to what the world throws at you, that is not quitting, it is retargeting, trying again.

So, take courage that you are still in there plugging away at life and at finding your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Winners believe, quiters doubt.

Be a believer!
