Sometimes I Lose Focus On The Purpose Of A Home Business

The one thing that I have found to be most important in doing the Empower Network or for anyone doing home business is to always keep focus on the purpose of a home business. Everyone’s purposes for doing anything is different but it is so important to keep that at the forefront of your mind when going about doing a home business.

I still make the mistake of thinking that by doing the Empower Network I have to drop everything else in my life. The reason is, that working the Empower Network business is so compelling in itself that the excitement for it can easily overshadow other things in life. You sort of get addicted to it. However, the Empower Network was not designed to take over my life, nor is it supposed to take over anyone’s life, because the very name of the company states clearly that the purpose of the company is to empower people to live the life they want to live, doing the things they love to do, being with the people they want to be with and to be where they want to be. In fact, the Empower Network is there for people to celebrate and enhance what they love most in life, because it is that which makes them special.

The purpose of a home business is not necessarily to always be at home

One big factor in the purpose of a home business is for parents to be at home with their children as they grow up and not to have to put them in day care or pay baby sitters because they are at work. That is a big reason people do home businesses. But, for me personally, the reason I want to do a home business is to be able to take the business with me wherever I go and to be able to be there for my parents when they need me as well as to be able to travel and do the things I love to do. So, home business for me means actually having a business that is portable.

The purpose of a home business is to make money, or is it?

Yes, the purpose of a home business, like any business, is to make money. The more successful a business is, the more money it makes. But for people in home business, money isn’t an end of it’s own. Money is something that makes living the life you want to live easier. Making money for the majority in society means to get a job and get paid a flat fee, if you will, either a salary or an hourly wage. Some smart folks who do this also save, invest and organize their finances so that over time their hard work will pay off in dividends. But, people who are in a home business for themselves want to make more money than what a job will pay and not to be a slave to that job. The Empower Network’s motto is to make a living AND have a life, not to work for a dream and live the nightmare.

So it is paramount that while you build your home business, especially the Empower Network, to continue to do the things you love and what makes you happy, because if the business takes that away from you, then you are in fact not building your business correctly. This is what I love most about the Empower Network, because you can celebrate the life you love and that is the message that people need to get.

I grew up the son of a college professor. What a lucky fate that was! I am so grateful for the environment I grew up in. My entire youth was centered around the university and there are few places that are more inspiring to be than a university, especially my university. Likewise is the purpose of a home business is to surround yourself with inspiring people who share the same dream. That is one of the greatest things about a home business, the support you get from others in your business. Teamwork and support are a big part of a home business company because one dynamic of these businesses is that others contribute to your success, so it isn’t only a matter of teamwork for altruistic reasons, but a matter of teamwork that shows up in everyone’s bottom line. So, you can’t be selfish and succeed at home businesses, in fact, community is a big part of the success.
