The Most Beautiful Music in The World: Samuel Barber's ''Adagio for Strings''

Samuel Barber’s ”Adagio for Strings” is one of the most poignant pieces of music ever written.

But, what does it mean?

It is often used in films as a piece to underscore deep sentiments and the intensity of the human condition. In truly great beautiful music you can’t really ever escape it, it stays embedded in the recesses of your mind and your soul, soothing a longing and somehow solving a problem that is deep inside. It gives you hope, it stirs you and it adds to the way we experience life.

No words can describe what profound music is or does for us, so it is best left unsaid and I give it to you, the reader, to turn into a listener and just let it make you feelhuman.

It is interesting to watch an orchestra play. Really, classical music is one of the few final places you can go to see and hear something real, made by human hands from living human spirits coordinated in the act of making beauty. It is authentic, spontaneous and lifting. Go to orchestral concerts, go to recitals and see an opera. No, microphones, no amplification, no loudspeakers, no recording engineer doctoring the sound, just honest musicians and singers projecting sound into space.

Music is my passion and I can do it, write about it and talk about it endlessly. That is why I write and share with you things that are of value to me and the things I am passionate about. I share them with you because it is brilliant and because what I present here is also in the best interest of the person reading it.

I feel there is enough trite junk out there in the world, and I’d like to think that I popularize the things that exist that may be lesser known to people, but I feel are truly brilliant and can add real value to people’s lives.

So, I let my voice be heard on this blog, the most brilliant blog on earth…and it can be yours too. It can be your home journal about whatever you are passionate about. I highly recommend it.
